Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out - after graduating top of her class from medical school, she'll follow in her father's footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work with him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast town only to find that Harley has passed away and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will.
She quickly finds that Southern hospitality isn't always so hospitable - the other doctor in town, Brick Breeland, is less than pleased to be sharing the practice with this young outsider, and his daughter, Lemon, is a Southern belle whose sweet disposition turns sour when she meets Zoe. Zoe's only allies are the mayor, former football star Lavon Hayes, her bad-boy neighbor Wade Kinsella, and handsome lawyer George Tucker - who just happens to be Lemon's fiance. Zoe is out of her element and ready to pack her bags, but a surprise visit by her snobby New York mother leads to Zoe's decision to stay in Bluebell for a while, discovering small-town life and a side of herself she hadn't known was there.
Hart of Dixie is an American television comedy-drama created by Leila Gerstein for The CW, with executive producers, Gerstein, Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Jason Ensler, and Len Goldstein.[1] The series first airs Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. as a lead-out to Gossip Girl.[1] The series stars Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart, who aspires to be like her father and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. After five years of residency at New York Hospital, Zoe does not get a fellowship and takes up an offer to move south to work in a small medical practice. On April 26, 2013, The CW renewed Hart of Dixie for a third season.[2]
During the first season of the series '&' was formatted into the episode titles with a play on words or alliteration. The only episodes not to feature this were "Pilot", "Hell's Belles", "Heart to Hart", and "The Big Day". The rest of the series uses titles from country music songs as titles of episodes.
As of February 10, 2014, 57 episodes of Hart of Dixie have aired.Now that Zoe knows the true feelings of both George and Wade, she must choose between the two men. Zoe seeks the advice of former Bluebell resident Ruby Jeffries (Golden Brooks). The two become fast friends, but no one in Bluebell is excited to see Ruby return, especially Lavon who has history with her. Meanwhile, Lemon decides to move on from George and start over fresh by finding a job and her own apartment.

Upon hearing about George's date, Lemon has a "girls night out" with Annabeth. Brick is still resentful towards George for breaking Lemon's heart at the altar. With Ruby now running against him for mayor, Lavon begins thinking about why he became mayor in the first place.

Though Zoe is trying to keep things casual with Wade, she starts to feel jealous when she sees him with another woman. Zoe decides to get back at Wade by setting up a date with Ruby's cousin. Lavon reluctantly agrees to hire Lemon as his campaign manager, but he unexpectedly finds himself in the middle of a town scandal when he takes the fall for her, a move which could cost him the mayoral race. Meanwhile, with Lemon no longer living at home, Brick and Magnolia struggle with the household chores and come up with a plan to get Lemon to move back home.

Zoe finds out that George has been sleepwalking into her bedroom. She agrees to cure him, and cancels plans with Wade. After Zoe "cures" George of his sleepwalking, they talk and Zoe tells George that that she's seeing someone, who she has real feelings for, and that he should do the same. Lavon and Annabeth start a fake relationship so Lavon can get major votes from a (big) family that are rivals of Lavon's alma mater. However, Lavon and Annabeth's plan rubs Lemon the wrong way.

However, when George unexpectedly shows up on the camping trip, their conversation forces Wade to see his relationship in a different light. Brick wants to take his relationship with Emily to the next level, but he's surprised to learn who is uncomfortable with the plan.[39]

Meanwhile, George creates a basket in the hope that Tansy will be the winning bidder.

Trying to fix the problem, Zoe upsets Wade by turning to his dad. Meanwhile, Lavon is desperate to make the week special for Ruby, but his plan goes awry when Lemon gets involved. Elsewhere, George is struggling with picking out the perfect present for Tansy.
